What is a Caravanserai
A caravanserai was a roadside inn built along trade routes across Central Asia, North Africa, and Anatolia. Travelers — merchants, scholars, couriers — stopped there to rest, exchange news, and resupply before continuing their journey.
Each was built around a central courtyard, open to all. Surrounding it were rooms, each serving a particular purpose: shelter, storage, trade, information.
